Dr. Iris Matsukado
Doctor of Optometry
Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Dr. Iris Matsukado received her B.S. in mathematics from Creighton University in Omaha, NE and B.S.V.S. from the Illinois College of Optometry. Graduating in 1992, she received an award in excellence in Contact Lenses. Her clinical training includes Primary Care and Contact Lenses at The Illinois Eye Institute, Sidney Hillman Health Center, Great Lakes Naval Training Center and a Residency in Pediatrics and Binocular Vision at the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, IL. She joined the staff at the Illinois College of Optometry as an Instructor of Optometry in Cornea and Specialty Contact Lenses for another year until she had an opportunity to work with the Toronto Blue Jays and the Dunedin Blue Jays. Dr. Matsukado has maintained continuous active membership in the American Optometric Association since 1992 and the Florida Optometric Association since 1994. She is also an active member of the AOA Sports Vision Section. When not in the office, Dr. Matsukado enjoys AAU Karate competition as an Advanced Competitor and gives back to the sport as a State and National Referee and Jr. Olympic coach.
