Our Technology

We are a technology driven practice and believe in using the most up to date equipment and techniques to deliver the best results. Here is a short list of current equipment used by our practice.

Optimal Digital Retinal Imaging

Gives eye care professionals a much larger view (200 degrees) of the back of your eye (retina). Your retina contains all of the important components that gives us sight: optic nerve, macula, blood vessels, even the rods and cones that allow us to see color and light. Optomap images can be taken without using chemicals to dilate the pupils, a very common procedure which is uncomfortable and inconvenient for many people. Theses images are permanently stored in your records for future comparison which can greatly help aid in the diagnosis of common eye diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration.

iWellness OCT Scan

The iWellness scan gives our doctors one, easy-to-read report that displays retinal thickness and Ganglion Cell thickness with normative comparisons. Where the Optomap takes an image of the back surface of the eye, the iWellness scan shows a cross section of all the layers underneath the tissue. These images along with a high-resolution B-scan and symmetry analysis help our doctors identify the signs of retinal and optic nerve disease.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

Electronic medical records have been proven in studies to decrease medical errors, increase quality of care, reduce operational cost and paper use. Our practice has been on EMR technology since January 2008.

Acuity Pro Eye Charts

With built in randomization there is no more letter memorization of our computer driven eye charts. We test vision not memory! This allows a much more accurate prescription results. Digital Visual Field Testing is available on site for patients that require testing of their peripheral vision. Automated field testing checks for glaucoma, cataracts and even strokes.
